There was some trouble before in the GUI, not knowing if present(smth).
should be rendered as smth: present
or smth: 1
in the initial state table (or absent
vs 0
).
I think it is more reliable to use the actual values instead of strings (see ee636d56), mostly because of the sliders: when a value is not a number (e.g. a parameter name), the slider is disabled. In my opinion that is not something we want in this case.
