Dates
Should we use date
which is available instead of year
and month
?
- From biblatex “The year of publication. This field is a literal field only when given explicitly in the data (for plain BibTeX compatibility for example). It is however better to use the date field as this is compatible with plain years too and supports many more features."
Today, the HAL's bibtex export contains year
and month
.
Another question on dates, which date to use?
In a software deposit there is the date of the deposit also called datePublished
and if the contributor has given a date of production in the metadata, there is also the dateCreated
.
In the proposition, on the working document, I have used the dateCreated
(Jan 1994).
