## Binaries
Binary distributions can be installed with ``conda`` for Linux, MacOS and Windows from:
https://anaconda.org/axel-distrib
as follows::
```
conda install -c axel-distrib axel
```
A new version of ``axel`` can be obtained with ``conda``::
conda update axel
## Using ``Conda`` for ``Axel``
This installation requires first the installation of [conda](https://conda.io/miniconda.html):
- Install ``conda`` (see http://conda.pydata.org/docs/install/quick.html)
```shell
bash Miniconda*-*-*-*.sh
```
You can use either Miniconda2 or Miniconda3 for `linux64` and `osx64`. For `win64`, Miniconda3 is mandatory. See [here for more details](https://conda.io/docs/install/quick.html).
- Set up your environment, by adding the path to the directory of ``conda`` in the variable ``PATH``:
```shell
export PATH=/path/to/where/you/have/installed/anaconda/bin:$PATH
```
You can also add the corresponding line in your file $HOME/.profile to have
the variable ``PATH`` set up, each time you open a terminal. To set up the environment after editing the file, use :
```
source $HOME/.profile
```
- Use conda to install ``Axel``:
```
conda install -c axel-distrib axel
```
- Check that ``axel`` is running:
```shell
axel
```
This should start the application ``axel``, with its initial view of a frame.
## Dependencies
- qt: conda package for qt >= 5.6 on anaconda channel
## Problem solving
- If OpenGL libraries are missing on your computer, you may need to install them with:
```shell
conda install mesa
```
