dirtyfindzeros wrong outside function's domain

dirtyfindzeros classifies each point that lies outside the function's domain as a zero of the function.
Example:
> points = 8;
The number of points has been set to 8.
> dirtyfindzeros(log(x), [-0.5, -0.25]);
[|-0.5, -0.46875, -0.4375, -0.40625, -0.375, -0.34375, -0.3125, -0.28125, -0.25|]
