[enhancement] add an optional --pdb flag

...to drop into the debugger at the point where an unhandled exception occurred

Should be helpful for debugging errors that occur when running the dnadna command-line script.

Also fixed the bug where the "an unhandled exception occurred..." message was printed more than once
